Springfield Armory's Range Officer Elite Operator, serial NM556575, is a full-size steel-frame 1911 in .45 ACP with a 5-inch barrel. It is single-action only with an ambidextrous thumb safety, a fiber-optic front sight, an accessory rail, a matte black finish and G10 grips. Modern production; the bore is excellent and the finish shows light edge wear, for an overall near-excellent grade. Five spare magazines and the original range bag are included.

A rail-equipped 1911 with a bright front sight and five spare magazines is set up for New Mexico home defense or serious range time, and the ambidextrous safety suits left-handed shooters as well as right. The steel frame and 5-inch barrel are the classic full-size format. New Mexico requires no permit to purchase and keeps no registry; the dealer runs the NICS check and holds the pistol seven calendar days unless the buyer holds a New Mexico concealed handgun license or an FFL, or the sale is an immediate family transfer.
