This Smith & Wesson Model 36-10, the Chiefs Special in its Classic run, was made in 2004, serial DJZ1756, chambered in .38 Special with a 1.875-inch barrel. It is blued steel with diamond-checkered grips and the internal lock. The bore is excellent, the overall condition is very good, and the revolver comes with a case and a Black Hills leather holster.

A short-barreled .38 revolver with a holster already in the box is a classic concealed-carry package, and a New Mexico buyer who holds a valid concealed handgun license picks it up without the seven-day wait. Everyone else waits the seven calendar days after the dealer's NICS check. The state has no purchase permit and no registration; bring photo ID, expect to complete ATF Form 4473 at the counter, and be at least 21 for a dealer handgun sale. The diamond-checkered grips are the traditional pattern for this frame.
