Tula Arsenal turned out this M91/30 Mosin Nagant in 1943, serial 9130020859. It is chambered in 7.62x54R with a 29-inch round barrel, and the bore is bright with strong rifling. Serial numbers match, with the magazine floor plate and butt plate force-matched. Handling marks are minimal and the rifle rates very good overall. The full kit comes along: bayonet, sling, cleaning kit, oiler and ammunition pouch. The action is smooth and functions correctly.

A matching wartime Tula with its accessories is a collector's rifle in New Mexico, but it is also usable in the field. The 7.62x54R cartridge meets the state's centerfire, .22-and-larger rule for deer and elk when loaded with expanding bullets, and most rifle hunts fall between October and December under the hunt code you drew. Leave the surplus full metal jacket rounds at home; they are not legal for big game here.
