This is the khaki canvas carrier the US military issued for its three-section .30-caliber cleaning rod of the Second World War period, identified by the number M1-C6573A. It is a used piece of militaria, yet the condition is listed as excellent. The edges are bound in Olive Drab Shade 3, and the belt hanger is blackened brass, which gives the case a darker trim against the lighter khaki body.

For a New Mexico collector or reenactor who already has a three-piece .30-caliber rod, this case puts it back in the carrier it was meant to live in, hung from a belt rather than loose in a range bag. Display builders will value the excellent condition, since the canvas and the Olive Drab trim are what visitors notice first. If you are assembling a complete World War II-era kit for a .30-caliber US service rifle, the case is a small piece that is easy to overlook.
