Smith & Wesson's M&P10, serial KN62394, is a modern-production semi-automatic rifle in .308 Winchester with a 16-inch barrel topped by a muzzle brake. The upper carries a Picatinny optic rail, the handguard is polymer, the stock collapses and the finish is matte black with light marks. The bore is excellent and the overall condition is very good.
A .308 earns its keep in New Mexico in two ways. It clears the centerfire, .22-caliber-or-larger rule for big game when loaded with expanding bullets, and the collapsible stock and 16-inch barrel make it easy to pack for an October-to-December deer or elk hunt drawn under a hunt code. Outside the season it is a range rifle with a flat-top rail for whatever optic you choose. Full metal jacket and tracer ammunition stay off the big-game list, so keep the hunting loads separate from the practice loads.
