A Finnish-made Sako AV bolt-action hunting rifle from the 1980s, serial 647755, chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum with a 24-inch round barrel. Redfield scope bases are already fitted, the bottom metal is hinged, and the checkered walnut stock has a single cross bolt and the original red recoil pad. The supplier grades the rifle very good overall.
7mm Rem Mag is a flat-shooting magnum that fits the open ground where New Mexico pronghorn and elk are hunted, and it clears the state's rule of a centerfire .22 caliber or larger with expanding bullets. Most deer, elk and pronghorn licenses come through the annual big-game draw, and rifle hunts mostly fall from October through December by hunt code. With the bases in place, adding rings and a scope is a short job before the season, and the hinged floorplate makes unloading simple at the truck.
