Paul Jaeger Custom Sporter Rifle 30-06

Serial 2152 is a hand-built Paul Jaeger sporter from roughly the 1950s or 1960s, assembled on a commercial Mauser action in .30-06. The 26-inch round barrel has a ramped front sight and a Williams rear, and a Jaeger quick-detach side mount carries a Redfield 2-7 scope. Jaeger fitted his own trigger, a side safety and hinged bottom metal. The checkered walnut stock has a steel grip cap, a checkered steel butt plate, a leather sling and the original Jaeger-marked swivels. Light handling marks on the wood, some wear on barrel and bolt, excellent bore, very good overall.

.30-06 sits well above New Mexico's .22-caliber centerfire minimum, so with expanding bullets this rifle is legal for the deer and elk hunts that mostly fall between October and December. Those licenses come through the annual draw, and your hunt code lists its dates in the 2026-27 rules booklet. The 2-7 scope and the iron sights beneath it cover both timber and open ground.
