A WWII Japanese Type 99 gas mask, listed as an Army and civilian pattern, in overall good condition. One eye lens is shattered but still in place, and the cover on the right lens has a crack. The rubber connecting hose is pliable and intact. A label, which the seller calls handsome, remains attached to the filter, and the carrying case has a hole above its own attached label.
This is a display piece for a New Mexico collector of Pacific War militaria, not equipment to be worn. The damaged lens and cracked cover are stated plainly, and the intact hose and surviving filter label are the strengths. The carrying case comes with it, hole and all. Gas masks are ordinary collectibles for shipping purposes and need no permit.
